Yep, we are literally talking about buttocks pain. More specifically, pain or numbness that runs from the lower back, through the rear end, and down the back of the leg.
Does this sound familiar? It could be piriformis syndrome, a condition in which the piriformis muscle (in the buttocks near the top of the hip joint) becomes tight and compresses the sciatic nerve (large nerve extending from the lower back down the back of the leg).
